Sir John Cass’s Foundation is looking for three new Board Members / Trustees.
The Organisation
The Foundation is one of London's oldest and largest education charities. Founded in 1748, it supports education for young people under the age of 25 in inner London through its grant programmes for individuals, schools and organisations, and its support for a number of institutions bearing Sir John Cass's name. The Foundation provides in excess of £1.3 million of educationally linked grants per year derived from an investment portfolio of circa £50 million.
The Role
Work alongside other Board Members / Trustees to set strategic direction and ensure the effective delivery of the Foundation strategy.
Use practical experience to guide the work of the Foundation, participating in various committees such as Finance, Grants, Audit and others.
Represent the Foundation at various external events and with Partner organisations.
The Candidate
Senior management experience of organisations in a complex and dynamic environment is preferable. The Foundation is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Regulation, Compliance, Insurance, Marketing, Education, Arts and Media, but also welcomes those with backgrounds in Investments, Strategic Management, Business Planning, Governance and Finance.
The time commitment will be approximately 10 days for Board meetings, Committee and Sub-committee meetings, Founder’s Day, Board Away Days and external events.
The position is unremunerated, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
